Jalli kattu
Jallikattu is a specilised rare event widely performed in the areas of Pudukkottai District at about 25 villages . Virallimalai, Thiruvappur, Alathur and Thirunallur are the familiar places where the jallikattu event performed in a grand manner every year. The familiar Virallimalai jallikattu has been witnessed by 34 foreign tourist last year 2018.
Pongal Vizha
Pongal Vizha cultural festival has been organized by the Department of Tourism every year during the Tamil month of Thy . The District Collector Pudukkottai inaugurated the pongal Festival and the Honorable Minister for Health participated on this function as a chief guest last year-2018.
World Tourism Day
World Tourism Day has been celebrated by the Department of Tourism every year on 27th September. During 2018 it has been celebrated in sittannavasal Tourist spot with cultural dances . The District Collector Pudukkottai inaugurated the world Tourism Day Festival and the Honorable Minister for Health participated on this function as a chief guest last year -2018.
Cleanliness Compaign
The Cleanliness campaigb has been organized by the Department of Tourism to clean the important Tourist spots so as to create the awareness of cleanliness among the tourist . During 2017 it has been arranged at Sittannavasal tourist spot with the co-ordination of H.H.Raja college NSS students Pudukkottai on 10.10.2017.
School children Educational Tour
For the first time, in order to create awareness among the school children about the tour, an Educational tour has been organized by Department of Tourism . In Pudukkottai District, 150 poor children chosen from various government schools of Pudukkottai District have been brought up to this tour.The Tour had been inaugurated by the sub collector Pudukkottai and the District Collector Pudukkottai blessed the students during their visit at the Government Museum on 21.02.2018.
